Help for Workers at Risk
Joined Up for Jobs aims to help people whose jobs are at risk stay in work as well as helping unemployed people into work.
Supporting progression in work is one way to achieve this. Equally, when employees go off work with a long-term illness it’s important that support with return to work can be given to them. NHS Lothian’s Working Health service has been designed with this group in mind; and staff at Edinburgh Trade Union Council’s support@work project are experts in negotiating any changes needed at work to enable job retention – find them on the Directory for more information.
For workers being made redundant, Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) is a Scottish Government initiative that provides support and guidance with vocational choices and job-search – see this page on the Skills Development Scotland website: http://www.skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk/our-services/services-for-individuals/redundancy-help-and-advice
For more information about the activities under the heading of ‘joined-up support to workers at risk of losing employment, and their employers’, look at the Operational Plan.
