    This community-based youth skills programme is aimed at 16-19 year olds who experience considerable disadvantage in accessing sustainable employment. The challenge programme is delivered over five weeks and is designed to support young people who have entered into the early stages of employability support. This unique training opportunity allows young people to take part in a practical challenge usually identified within their local community. The programme improves learner's confidence, skills and encouraged them to take pride in their community.

    Intensive support to young care leavers with the most complex needs. Longer term support to help the young people move into positive destinations. Each young person will be allocated a designated worker who will work closely with the young person, social work teams and partner agencies to identify and overcome personal and practical barriers into employment. Each young person will have an individual service plan and goals as well as receiving employability support and an aftercare service to ensure sustainable outcomes are achieved.

    We deliver a range of employability programmes to young people aged 16-24 living within Edinburgh. The programmes are aimed at stage one of the pipeline and are sector specific relating to the stem subjects. The programmes range from four to six weeks in duration and participants take part in various workshops including completion of SQA qualifications intended to strengthen employability skills. Working closely with a number of employers and partners such as Kwikfit and Equate Scotland we provide training and work placement opportunities to support participants to explore STEM sectors.

    Youthbuild assists young people aged 16 - 19, who experience considerable disadvantage in accessing sustainable employment and comprehensive training in construction. Youthbuild Edinburgh works to tackle the underlying issues that prevent young people from entering and sustaining employment and capitalises on opportunities available. Through a supported approach participants can gain qualifications, experience and secure employment within the construction industry. All training is delivered in house and caseworker support can last up to nine months depending on individual needs.
