The Offer to Job-seekers

Clear information to get you to the right service – no wrong doors

The intention of Joined Up For Jobs is that services for job-seekers are clear and accessible. This website aims to set out what is available for whom. We also expect that each organisation providing services can act as a signpost to other services – if they don’t provide what you need, they will point you to someone who does.

In summary here is the range of services which are available:

Jobseekers requirements

Services offered

Signposting and Advice

Impartial and based on the needs of the individual concerned. An assessment of these needs is therefore necessary to support more in-depth and personalised advice.

Assessment

Identifying the positive qualities which will help getting work, as well as barriers to getting a job. Assessments should lead to creation of an Action Plan through which the individual will gain the skills needed and deal with issues identified.

Action Planning

The Action Plan is the list of things which the individual and the adviser agree will be done to improve employability, to find the right job and then successfully apply for it.

Job Search and Matching

Includes helping a jobseeker find a vacancy for which s/he is suited, prepare them and help with the application process.

Case Management

To make sure that the individual is helped to find the right jobs to apply for, given active support during the recruitment process and assistance, if necessary, after starting work.

Keeping a job and support in work

Keeping in touch once in work and helping iron out any problems which may arise with, for example, money or travel or other in work issues in a constructive way. This is often called Aftercare.

The Operational Plan for the Job-seeker Offer can be found here. A key element of this is the creation and roll-out of a Customer Charter.

Customer Charter

We aim to guarantee that all of the providers listed in our directory are clear about what they can offer and are able themselves to guarantee a consistently high quality of service to their customers. To do this we have introduced a Customer Charter. Over time all of our providers will undertake this quality assurance test and only those whose service meets the standards required will be awarded charter status and retained as approved providers on the directory of services.
