Action for Children are accepting Referrals for our Positive Choices Programme including 'On Your Marks'

From age 15 (within 6 months of school leaving date) up to age 25

CLOSING DATE FOR REFERRALS IS 28TH May 2018
INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD ON 29TH MAY 2018

Training allowance: £33 per week plus travel expenses (If eligible)
Start date: 4th June 2018
Days: 3 days per week (days to be confirmed)
Duration: 6 weeks with 26 weeks throughcare support

To be eligible, young people must:

• Be aged 15-25
• If 15/16 be within 6 months of their school leaving date
• Live in Edinburgh
• Be prepared to complete ALL elements of training
• Attend three days per week for a 6-week duration


Work with an athlete

We have teamed up with Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to deliver this exciting programme. For one week of the training you will have the opportunity to work alongside athlete Sarah Clark as part of their 'on your marks' programme. Sarah is a three-time Olympian as well as achieving successes in international competition such as winning three European medals and winning the continental title in 2006. She competed at the Athens Olympics in 2004, the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the London 2012 Olympics and is currently a 5th Dan black belt.
Within the other 5 weeks training you would expect to take part in various sessions and workshops such as:
• Health & Safety Awareness Sessions
• Interactive practical sessions/ Small Projects lead by trained and experienced staff (Team Building)
• Employability workshops (interview techniques, employer expectations, CV's)
• Personal Development Workshops (Smoking cessation, conflict resolution, online safety, confidence building)
• SQA Modules to complement Individual Learner Portfolio (Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, health & Wellbeing)
