Organisation Description
Access to Industry moves excluded people into education and on to employment across the South East of Scotland.
We do this through the creation and development of new education and training programmes.
These are delivered through partnerships with key education and training providers.
We also work closely with employers to provide supported work experience
placements.
Our opportunities provide students with the self confidence, skills, and qualifications to move towards a career through further education.
Our opportunities are free, and benefits are not affected.
Access to Industry courses
Our education and training courses are designed for students from non traditional academic backgrounds.
Our course development officers provide ongoing support enabling students to progress towards their career goals.
Our strong focus on the creative industries and vocational training ensures that employer’s skill demands are met.
Access to Industry Passport and Transition
Passport is an accredited employability programme, providing personal support for people moving out of care, prison, substance misuse, homelessness or street sex work.
Through our SQA qualifications, structured work placements, and training opportunities, we support, motivate and challenge clients to move into work and further education.
Transition operates as a ‘mini college’ for recovering substance users. It provides a daily structured programme of accredited learning on a rolling basis.
Our qualifications focus on specific job training and core skills to move students on to further education and employment.
