Organisation Description
Healthcare Academy is a five week pre-employment course in Healthcare, giving unemployed persons the opportunity to experience knowledge and practice in Healthcare.
During the course, participants will be able to improve their confidence in a supported group learning environment, undertake NHS Lothian Corporate Induction, Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, E-learning, The Lothian Way, Application Process and support with applying, along with many more relevant areas. Applicants will be able to experience the clinical aspect through observation days in clinical areas.
All venues are at training rooms within Hospitals throughout NHS Lothian.
Courses
Courses run four times a year: Approx, February, May, August, October.
Applications can be sent at any time and will be considered after the closing date for the next cohort. Late applications will be kept on file till the next course recruitment.
Healthcare Academy does not run over any major school holidays.
Selection Process
Selection Process takes place after the closing dates, applicants will be notified and invited to a short informal interview process, this is to identify if the Healthcare Academy is suitable for the applicant.
Travel Expenses
Daily travel expense of £3.00 is given to each participant during the Healthcare Academy
course.
