Organisation Description
Skills Path provides work skills training to adults with learning disabilities. We offer a mail fulfillment service to a number of companies across Edinburgh. These mail outs are the main area of work for the trainees, but they are also given the opportunity to participate in training in the cafe area, office and reception. Throughout the placement, trainees develop a number of skills, including communication, time keeping, following instructions and team work.
Once trainees have completed their 12-18 month training, they are supported to move on to voluntary work, work experience placements or paid employment. Skills Path provide advisor support with the application stage, in-work support at the transition stage and on the longer term.
