Jobs Strategy Group

The Job Strategy Group (JSG)'s function is to plan. Partners share information about major changes or initiatives coming through their own organisations and what is likely to be coming our way in the coming year or two. This allows for joint planning before changes are implemented or new opportunities come to the market.

Priorities for 2016/2017 are:

  • Consolidating our 'Joined up for Business' offer
  • Broadening the offer at Fort Kinnaird Recruitment & Skills Centre
  • Work to extend the availability of service co-location hubs in West and Central Edinburgh
  • Continuing to prepare our funded services for welfare Reform impacts on their clients
  • Working with the Higher Education sector and others to widen the 'Skills Offer' to businesses
  • The re-commissioning of major locally funded service programmes and
  • Developing ways of using these services to help address in work poverty

  The Jobs Strategy Group comprises:

  • District Manager East and South East Scotland, Department of Work and Pensions
  • Regional Manager, Skills Development Scotland
  • Vice Principal, Edinburgh College
  • Employability & Talent Development lead, City of Edinburgh Council
  • Employability Lead, NHS Lothian
  • Director of Operations, Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce
  • Chief Executive, Capital City Partnership
